Why Los Angeles?

Los Angeles, live since 2025, sits in One Wilshire — the building that has been the western terminus of American internet since before most of our customers were born. We joined Any2 California, connected Arelion, Cogent and NTT, and pointed the trans-Pacific routes at Tokyo: 92 ms from here to there is the shortest US–Japan path we can sell.

The site carries 0.64 Tbit/s of edge capacity and solves a specific problem: the west coast is the part of the United States where the sun sets last and the packets to Asia start first. Seattle at 17 ms, Mexico City at 43, Sydney at 118. If your traffic crosses the Pacific in either direction, this is the American end of the cable.

Questions about Los Angeles

The two answers people actually ask about this site, then the five we give everywhere.

This site

Is Los Angeles the right site for Asia-facing US traffic?
If the traffic is US-to-Asia, yes: Tokyo at 92 ms, Seoul at 110 and Singapore at 141 are the best trans-Pacific numbers in our catalogue. If your users are mostly Asian and your server does not have to be American, the honest answer is Tokyo or Seoul — the price is the same, and the latency is not.
Why does a US site help with Latin American users?
Mexico City at 43 ms and the general west-coast peering density make LA the quiet US entry point for Latin American traffic that needs to touch the United States. For pure Brazil-facing traffic, São Paulo beats every US site by a wide margin — 52 ms from Miami is still a detour.

Everywhere

Which region should I pick?
Measure, then read. Median RTT decides most cases: pick the site closest to the users you already have, then check the local law if that matters to your data. We do not charge a regional premium, so the decision is never financial.
Is the price the same in every location?
Yes. A Nano costs €1.90 per month in Frankfurt and in São Paulo. There is no regional pricing tier, no 'emerging market' discount and no 'premium location' markup to optimise around.
Can I move a server to another site later?
Take a snapshot, deploy the same image at the destination, restore, update the DNS. The console does not yet automate the migration end-to-end, but nothing about the price changes if you redeploy somewhere else.
Is DDoS protection included?
Standard volumetric filtering is always on and always free at every site. If you need application-layer scrubbing with custom rules, the Advanced tier costs €3.90 per month per server.
What IP addresses do I get?
Every server ships with one dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6, both announced from the site you chose. Additional IPv4s are €1.20 per month each, up to eight per server.

Payments from United States

Orders from United States are handled exactly like every other order: checkout in euros, payment in Bitcoin, Monero or any of twenty-four assets, and the server provisions on the first network confirmation. No card, no bank, no name that has to match one.
