Why São Paulo?

São Paulo, live since 2025, is in Barueri, the suburb that hosts the densest concentration of datacentres in the southern hemisphere — the fibre equivalent of a town built around a railway, except the railway is IX.br, the world's largest exchange by traffic volume, and the freight is packets.

The site runs 0.36 Tbit/s of edge capacity on Arelion and Cogent, with 29 ms to Santiago and 52 to Miami. The pitch is simple: Latin American users should not have to cross an ocean to reach a server that is pretending to be near them. Why is São Paulo so much faster than a Miami or US site for Brazil?
Because the cable is shorter than the marketing. A Brazilian user in São Paulo reaches a server in the same metro area in single-digit milliseconds; a Miami server, even with a good route, costs them 50-90 ms and a border crossing. For payment pages, game servers and anything latency-sensitive, the local rack wins by an order of magnitude.
Is Brazil a complicated jurisdiction for a foreign customer?
Less than the reputation suggests for hosting. Servers in Brazil fall under the Marco Civil and the LGPD, Brazil's data-protection law, which matters mostly if you serve Brazilian users with personal data. The no-KYC ordering flow is unchanged — a foreign customer can rent this site exactly like Frankfurt.

Is the price the same in every location?

Take a snapshot, deploy the same image at the destination, restore, update the DNS. The console does not yet automate the migration end-to-end, but nothing about the price changes if you redeploy somewhere else.
Is DDoS protection included?
Standard volumetric filtering is always on and always free at every site. If you need application-layer scrubbing with custom rules, the Advanced tier costs €3.90 per month per server.
What IP addresses do I get?
Every server ships with one dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6, both announced from the site you chose. Additional IPv4s are €1.20 per month each, up to eight per server.
